Full Lawn Sod Installation
The most complete option when the goal is a consistent, established lawn across the whole property. Richmond yards that have been bare, patchy, or failing through multiple seeding cycles are usually better candidates for full sod than another round of seed-and-wait. A full install starts with soil assessment and prep — if there's compaction, poor drainage, or significant grade issues, those need to be addressed before sod goes down. The sod is laid in staggered rows with tight seam joints, rolled for soil contact, and watered in immediately. Establishment guidance is given on every job so the first two to three weeks go the way they should. For Kentucky conditions, the install season matters. Fall — late August through October — is the best window for cool-season grasses like Kentucky bluegrass and tall fescue. Spring installs work well. Summer installs are possible but demand more consistent irrigation.
Best for: new home lawns, yards that have been bare or unreliable for more than one season, full-property curb appeal resets, homes being prepared for sale
